Ornament Card

Hi everyone, I hope you are enjoying the countdown to Christmas and are enjoying great success in what ever projects you are tackling.
Here is my latest Christmas card creation and although I do love the end result, I learnt a couple of things along the way that I would like to share with you.
1. Heat embossing on glossy/mirror paper does not work very well.  If you click on the picture you will be able to see where it began to bubble from the heat.
2. Glue dots do not adhere to embossing on a glossy/mirror cardstock.  When I placed the bow on the ornament, I used a glue dot.  The whole thing came off clean, bow, glue dot and the embossing that was underneath.  I had to re adhere it with my trusty Fabri-Tac glue.
The ornament was cut with the Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom Ornament Dies. The coordinating stamp is from Our Daily Bread Designs. I stamped it using Versamark and then used fine black opaque embossing powder.
The shiny cardstocks are all from my LSS. The card base is Cherry Red from Gina K. I have to tell you that this card would have been a lot more stunning if I had used a black card base, but honestly for me black is just not a Christmas colour, so I chose the red instead. Actually now that I think about it, black would be perfect as in a sexy little black dress for a Christmas party :) with a little bling on it, of course.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by and leaving me some love.
Hugs,
Lena
