Father's Day Card for Hubby

If you follow my blog, then you know that my hubby enjoys riding his bicycle - wonder if it has something to do with being Dutch :)  For this card I thought I would use a bicycle theme but found that all my bicycles come with pretty flower baskets on them and that wouldn't do for hubby. So off I went to trusty old Google and found some clip art of different types of bicycles and these are the ones I used on my card ...
He has two out of the three :) Nope, he does not have a penny farthing. We  actually saw someone that rode one from Houston to Austin during the BP MS150 ride. Can't imagine what it must be like to ride up and down all those hills!
As you know by now, I hoard poems, verses and sayings for just the right moment.  This was one of those moments :) My son, who is 17 and knows it all, sometimes doubts that good old Dad actually does know better ALL the time :)
The cardstocks I used are from my stash.  The road mad paper is from Paper Studio.  I made a white and black copy of the original to tone down all the bright colours of the original paper.  I also added a few brads for the manly man effect and distressed the map edges.
I hope that hubby is going to like this card.
Thanks for taking peek today.

  1. Wonderful card Lena, I like all the bicycles and the map paper.
    Kevin xx

  2. Yes it's amazing how sons think they know more than their parents. The bikes look great on the paper! I love how you've matted them. The sentiment inside is so true! Great job my friend!
    Lots of Hugs,

  3. What a wonderfull card for him.
And the poem insite is so true!!!!!

  4. Wonderful card for your cyclist. I'm sure your husband will love it. I sometimes use clip art if I can't find what I'm looking for too.

Thank you for taking the time to post a comment. They are always so welcome and appreciate :-)
